I've had the game on this PC for weeks, and it's been fine until this evening. I'd shut down while downloading a completely different program...when I brought the box back up, went to restart Ooblets, and it came up in a state of "Cloud Syncing". I've tried killing the Epic processes through Task Manager and (a) restarting, (b) shutting down and hard rebooting, and nothing seems to reset the process. Whether I go through the launcher or try to use the desktop shortcut I created, "cloud syncing" stays hung. There doesn't seem to be any way to break through, either to reset cloud syncing preferences (I've not seen anything like that) OR (possibly?) kill/wipe the game and go for a clean reinstall. I'm resigned to losing game data if necessary--as it is, the whole thing is immobilized.
#[PC] Game startup hangs at Cloud Syncing

Seems the trick is to have the EG launcher open while ending the task in the task manager. Let me know if this works or not. Seems like a weird issue to have, but you definitely should report this to Epic Games as well
I actually found this reddit post early in the exercise, tried it a couple of times, and it didn't work. Fortunately, after I gave up, syncing managed to complete about 2 hours later, and the game opened. That makes my best guess, that I must have been dealing with some network problem which the game eventually got past (nothing else on my PC seemed slow).
