I played a few matches with it and it worked just fine, but in one match it stopped working completely for the rest of the match, it does nothing when I cast it

Did your opponent have any minions in their hand when you cast it? They had the Void Altar and I'm guessing a load of spells so perhaps there were no minions to copy.
If that was the case then the question is what should happen in this situation and does that make sense.

Update: it checks your opponents deck not their hand. Did they have any minions in their deck?

Regardless, it should check their deck not their hand so something is not working correctly. I have reported this to the devs.

I think Papyrus also breaks with ability cards. I had a Jez'ra on the field and then played Papyrus and it bugged both Jez'ra as well as the card slot getting blocked
