#Delta as a counter to Alpha

Why not making delta shield impulse cross barriers and damage alpha?

That will make a possible fun counter.

My idea behind this is bringing "triangular" strong weak relationships, so no build is overkill or undershit vs another

I feel like we should balance alpha rather than just making things specifically counter it. And it is designed as a counter to a lot of blast/offense gameplay, but it just has a very short lifetime. I feel like that time should be shorter, because it is used so much, and activated shields should get a buff, which would hopefully balance thing out.

Btw: Why should be one shield the counter for another one. Doesn't make much sense.

If you would suggest that single laser is a counter for alpha shield and alpha shield bearers are additionally an attractor for laser users ... this could be a valid someone's strength is another one's weakness. Especially since both modules are level 2.

Although it could be a little bit harder for alpha shield users: Colossi and Phoenix are also equipped with laser weapons.

Alpha is perfectly balanced shield.

I saw countless times alpha-veng bs was left with low hp, all mods on cd and nobody with tele rdy dared to finish it, before it refresh everything and heal. I guess the same ppl are complaining about it’s “OPness”mostly 😂

For this principle we would need something like

  • Ballistic weapons and shields that are good vs ballistic projectiles. but these shields are weaker against one other weapon type.
  • Beam weapons and shields that are specialized in protecting against beam weapons. But these shields are weaker while protecting against one other type of weapons.

And at least another weapon type :

  • For example energy weapons ( like a lightning cannon ) and shields that are good in defending against this weapon type, but weaker against one other weapon category.

If all weapons categories ( not all their variants ) are almost equally easy to unlock... and their other advantages and disadvantages are keeping a balance, then we could get a paper, scissors and stone ( and lizard and spock ) balanced out system.

But the idea to add a shield piercing effect on another shield, that's not a good thing.

Unfortunately we don't have a third category of weapons: Blast weapons do not count, since they have always an AOE effect. They stand outside this consideration.
