I've been playing Hades' Star for many years, close to the beginning. I've reloaded it constantly on many phones. There was a time when there was a global chat in the game. That was a good friggin time. You could joke around, make friends, ask stronger guys for hydro, find better corps, joke around, make friends..etc. It is unknown to us why it was shut down, someone said cuz of inappropriate stuff?! That makes no sense. Because there were moderators in the GC as well, and I remember the cus words were **'d out. So you had to use another language keyboard to get your point across sometimes. It was probably an evil ploy by stupid dumb 'blamers' to make things worst for everyone. But whatever the reason, I'm sure it's high time that it comes back to the game so it could be more fun again.

i miss GC too, it was cool to have an accessible in-game resource to ask questions and look for teams spontaneously

you cant get around the need for moderation though, which is a pain
then you have to ban people, and you'll have people trying to appeal bans, it can be a headache

Iirc the biggest problems were non-english GC, because english GC did have mods.
And the game has quite a substantial international audience, specifically chinese and russian, while none of us mods speak either.

but the playerbase is divided into solo and smaller-bigger groups (corps-conglomerates). having an easier access chat ||(and better UI)|| tied to corps could work better. They automatically get moderators (officers) and the impact of a singular player is smaller (those who see the inappropriate message are fewer hopefully)
