#Synergy Between Mod Types

Three trade modules have a unique ability that no other module types have. Shipment Drone passively adds the bonus from Shipment Computer and Trade Burst, meaning it makes sense to level all three modules for their accumulative bonus.

I think this is a very interesting aspect and would like to see it in other module types as well. Examples for Mining:

  • Hydrogen Upload (a very unpopular module now) could have a "Research Bonus Added: x%" that works with Artifact Boost
  • Blast Drone could add a percentage of damage from Hydrogen Rocket. They're basically mini heat-seekers anyway so adding missile damage makes sense.
  • Remote Mining (which doesn't really need levelling past 12) could slightly increase Hydrogen Replicator amount. Who doesn't like more hydrogen?

This gives passive incentive to level a variety of different modules while still feeling rewarding to the player.

This might require an adjustment to have all modules equipped on a ship in order to gain their accumulative passive abilities. Meaning you only get the +1200% trade bonus when Drone/Comp/Burst are all equipped on the same ship. Same goes for the Mining examples above.

Since we only have a limited amount of module slots, this means the player needs to put more thought into their loadout.

Do you want a battle mining ship? You'll need to decide which modules to exclude so that you can have Blast Drone and Hydrogen rocket.

Do you want more artifact bonus? Gotta make some room for Hydrogen Upload.

Not sure how this would work for single-module slot types like weapon/shield/drone but there is still opportunity for synergy here.

Does anyone use Delta/Omega Rocket? I sure haven't seen them used in a long time.

What if a having them both equipped increases the damage/speed of one another? Delta Rocket would have a bigger impact, and Omega Rocket wouldn't be slower than Internet Explorer and actually land a hit.

This example promotes a "Rocket-Battleship" build.

There are a lot of modules to play with and many different ways they can interact with one another.

Reduce the range of things like Teleport and Vengeance, but have Barrier passively increase those ranges instead.

Utilize Teleport's unique ability of lowering it's own cooldown. Have other modules borrow that. Want a faster Battleship build? Teleport required. With its range now reduced and requiring Barrier to increase it again, thats eating a module slot that might have been desired for something else like Solitude or EMP.

Hydrogen Replicator increasing croid value would be an incentive for bringing it into Red Stars

Gen should be at back to non buffed levels and make enrich work in ys. One sector 23 h cooldown just like gen. It worked out to about the same hydro a day as we have now

use both delta and omega for a single omega rocket that goes through barrier
