#Dark sector in drs

I believe each drs should have a dark sector. After the map has been completely cleared of all cerb (excluding interceptors and ghosts) and no player ships have been warped out the dark sector will spawn a large cerb base in the center surrounded by lots of extra harder cerbs. This sector should be hard enough it requires careful coordination of the games strongest players to crack. It should never be possible to solo with one bs like the rest of the game. This is intended to actually be a challenge with rewards to suit. Rewards would be 1 or 2 additional arts but at a 2x bonus to the normal arts you get from that star. So for example a 318% would become 636%. This would be available only once a day and only in the players max level rs.

By keeping it contained to a single sector I believe casual players who make up the majority of the player base will be left unaffected since they can ignore it. However it would give very strong players with nothing to do the last 10-15 min of a drs something to try for.

I was thinking it would show on the map as a darkened colors or maybe a dark boarder right from the start. It would always be in a trash sector. Probably on the “far” half of the map from spawn however I am open to suggestions for sure. I want it such that players can drive around it if they don’t want to mess with it or even leave one cerb alive in a out of the way sector so it doesn’t even spawn anything if they wish to drive through it later without having to deal with hard enemies.

I was also thinking the cerb base would act as the planet itself once all the cerb have been destroyed and its hp taken to zero rather than explode it sits there as a planet. To build incentive to play this part I also think you should unload an art and reload to gain the extra bonus on that art. This way we can pick the color we want (assuming there is one in system already)

Yes, it’s what drs are SUPPOSED to be but they are not. Drs today are less challenging than normal rs was in oghs. Let’s get some actual challenge. Currently the hardest thing in the game is literally just waiting. None of the game play is at all difficult. What is a game without challenge?

Iv made past suggestions about making the entire drs system harder but that was met by noobs who want everything handed to them. Some of us actually wanna play the game and enjoy it taking some sorta thought or creativity

Most people can’t even clear with using sol and the gate. Don’t think extra content for us try hard is a bad thing

also, i do support new content in drs. i am just pointing out that soli is something that make players go from "unplayable" to "too easy"

then soli is the problem. if drs is too hard, nerf the enemies. they are so strong that you can't do anything without soli. buff some shield types such as blast, ally... then it's playable.

Damage aside for a moment the sol style play is muuuuch better imo. Moving 3 ships at once doesn’t work with lag

but i dont like the fact drs quite literally force multiplayers to put soli in their ships, because they only allow 1 ship per player

Even with sol can still team up to clear sectors. Most people don’t but that doesn’t mean you can’t. Rl or cr from out of sector is a thing. Can run different loadouts and cycle ships in and out to make use of their different abilities

Now I can’t stop thinking of non sol builds that could work

i think current tech capabilities allow most enemies to eventually be trivialized. I would love a challenge past the current DRS,

I think DN brought a lot of improvements to the early game, but new content and challenge beyond r10 is sparse. Raising DRS difficulty like this suggestion is an option, or allow some sort of new mode with scaling difficulty (?)

I think a new challenge mode could be introduced, like the idea of ||quantum stars||. Presently, the late game challenge is working on clearing faster. I would love to see a difficult late-game combat zone.

It would be neat to see a PvE challenge that required several BS from several players with varying mods to defeat. It could go any number of ways, but more PvE content would be really nice

I agree. The way the game is currently designed it makes sense to have a mode that is literally unbeatable. Lets us fight until our ships cannot go any further. That way we always have something to try and get further/faster

an extra challenge would be nice~ you can full clear drs11 pretty neatly by the time you reach it, mods around 13-14

basically: DRS is a brilliant implementation of extra challenge and reward, just take it further

yea, needs tweaking. nothing wrong with that per se, late game was never broadly play tested. i wouldnt be surprised if feedback leads to changes

but then you lose the people that are barely scraping by in drs to appease others~ perhaps a tertiary ultra challenge would make sense

i enjoy solitude a lot more than movement spamming for 3 ships. the multitasking is nice. The mod cooldowns reductions from DN also play into a one ship force.
I would not be opposed to a solitude alternative that encourages ship stacking - it would make higher difficulty more accessible / safe, but at the cost of slower clearing.
