#Visual indicator for leap and dispatch landing explosion radius

What are we up to 6th? 7th? This has been requested a lot.
I agree should have indicators like veng but then bls leap should be 8 seconds rather than 10

i think 10 secs was done because thats how long you need to get out of radius if you move immediately
Multiple other ways to escape but even still I’d almost rather shorter time to 8 seconds and smaller range to match. But leap has a ton of counters. 5 seconds was too short but 10 is so long
i think leap is still decently good even with 10s
but its gonna be nerfed when there is a visual indicator
(unless its applied only to the leaper)

Barely escapable with a 10 second delay, 8 would break it
This is objective untrue. I use leap in all game modes and assure you it’s easily escapeable and it’s completely avoidable if you play correctly. Roughly half the people I attack with it in bls escape
Maximum bs speed in bls is 20 AU/s
Leap range is 200 AU
Without certain mods it is very difficult to avoid
Maybe if its range was nerfed, 8 seconds would be fine
Not all mods should counter all mods
Trade ease of activation for slightly worse effect
I am just saying it is already too good
I did mention reducing its range in another comment about reducing trigger time
It all comes down to cerb placement
If the map is open, you have an easy method of expanding someone’s alpha/barrier
This kind of RNG can be annoying
You don’t remove alpha with leap unless you wanna die
Anyway the point I was originally making is that reducing the trigger time from 10 to 8 and reducing its effect range proportionally (160au) it would be fair but also let leap be used near the end. Currently the red zone kills the drone instantly so unless you are tick perfect you can’t leap over the red.

Estimate the explosion radius and manage to get out of the radius is part of the game, otherwise it's gonna nerfed like @timid fiber said
There is no way to estimate it. It's too large.
Have you ever played WS?
If your team's blast shields can't tank leaps, you need to get out of the radius, so you need to constantly adjust moves in tm. Your suggestion is making this game to be easier instead of better
i mean, if the difficulty in the game comes from guessing the size of a circle, maybe thats already kinda stupid
id say the leap landing indicator would simply help prevent obnoxious deaths in BLS

hell, if you want leap to remain somewhat covert, you could only show the splash radius when selecting the leaping ship, but i think a general splash indicator like vengeance is reasonable
Then why you do the genrich calculation?
Why don't you suggest dev provide a official genrich calculator in game so we don't need to make our own spreadsheet and put stupid formats and functions in it?

As a filthy leaper I can assure you many deaths are right on the edge of the range because people run and think they are safe so they stop
I've seen a lot of suggestions like this.
These suggestions have one thing in common:
People don't willing to do the math. They want to add a timer for ws mods CD to see what the cooldown status is without having to jump in a bs, they want to see the leap/ dispatch explosion radius....
Come on, just do some math, don't be lazy.
There is no math to be done for leap in bls. But it is hard to visualize. Could you draw a line that’s exactly 1 foot long with no margin of error?

hell, im upgrading leap right now. i would prefer it be better if i use it in BLS, but its just a cheesy mechanic that doesnt strike me as fair

No. only makes it easier for you to play, not improve the game, it reduces the difficulty of the game

Yes. Currently get about half my kills without the enemy bs even realizing they are being attacked

Rs would be nice for new leap user. I have used it so long I just know. In ws I hate wasting time looking in tm for landing zone. It should be readily viewable like veng and destiny are

Sounds like you are just sour because your auto win in bls will be slightly harder
i mean, this is similar to if vengeance did not have a visual indicator, but even vengeance you can click and view the module radius to preview blast..

This is a reason why suspend is on my ship, to measure this stuff.
Still means the issue is whether a player knows they are targeted or not (any other explosion radius) they still can't dodge because 200 is such an odd range compared to other ranges in game.
This is scheduled for 2025.1 (scheduled features may still not make it into the update for various reasons)

That’s how it goes. I didn’t use leap before it was 10 seconds and I’m happy we’re getting an indicator. Will be nice in drs too
OP mentioned leap AND dispatch.
For leap it is absolutely required in some way.
For dispatch its not necessary. 120au area of effect is the same as the range of most ship weapons. And if we're talking ws, you have 12hr to use TM to fly a ship over there and check.
Anyways it is a nice visual fix. I assume that the two mods share the same code, so it wasn't a big deal
