Blast Shield is horrible in all modes, and each mode has a different reason why itâs horrible.
Starting with Red Star, itâs horrible because Regen-Solitude. Moving onâŚ
Blue Star
Blast Shield may be a little better with the removal of Leapâs viability in BLS, so now there is one less source of AOE damage. However, itâs still not entering the meta, and the reason is Radius. Blast Shield being smaller than Vengeance makes it so Blast Shield only works against one single commonly used BLS module: Destiny. Working only against Destiny, when Alpha Shield does it better, isnât good enough. It needs to be big enough to stop Vengeance
White Star
In WS, there is the same issue with Radius vs Vengeance. Blast Shield should definitely be a counter to Vengeance, and it simply isnât because it canât reach the source.
In WS, Blast Shield gets used against Dispatches and Destinies. The problem is, the shield is so terrible, that most teams only field 2. This means turtling, because spreading out to overwhelm the Blast Shields is too easy.
TL;DR
If Blast Shield was big enough to counter Vengeance, with a Radius buff, more people would upgrade it and use it.
In WS, this would lead to more teams having a viable tactic to deal with the flood of Tele-Alpha-Destiny builds in WS.
My Suggestion is simply to give Blast Shield the same Radius (in all star modes) as Ally Shieldâs WS Radius at same levels.
