Every good game needs lore. Here’s a concept:
When explorers first arrived in the hades galaxy, the existing civilization (Cerberus) viewed them as a threat. Scattered into corporations, but still a threat nonetheless.
The Cerberus, who have explored the star systems we are just now discovering, send token forces to our landing site - which then gets crushed by our forces. They then move on to their weakened, impoverished and suffering red star groups, which the Cerberus overlook at first, but when the news gets to them, they start reinforcing them - to no avail. After realising just how powerful the explorers are, the Cerberus becomes more desperate and they start to send their slaves, who were conquered when the Cerberus first reached type III civilization technology, to the temporary battlefields - all of which get crushed or die in the supernova that follows the mission. We aren’t much better - when we colonise their planets we either enslave or kill their population. We haven’t actually found out about the Cerberus’ s full potential - their most powerful star systems. However, the numerous ships they have suggests that they are in reality much more powerful than we are.
Maybe we can add another civilization which is fighting against both of us - maybe an advanced resistance group that wants freedom from the Cerberus and wants to avoid being recaptured by the corporations? A giant Cerberus/resistance headquarters/base that you must conquer to gain Cerberus/resistance blueprints? Maybe you could conduct an invasion in a “dark yellow star” filled with Cerberus forces and bases at their actual full potential? I think it would be cool to add lore, especially if it expands the game in some way or another.
