  1. Make it bypass Barriers

  2. Make it begin a quick timer as soon as it enters proximity of a hostile, and then it detonates

  3. retain neutralization damage

  4. buff its damage, because it is currently way too low

Andreas mentioned that he is trying to balance WS mods so that everything has a counter of sorts. I think this would counter:
Chain Ray
Bond
Barrier
Ships initiating Teleport, Leap

Should absolutely not go through barrier that’s the whole point if delta. Make it triggerable or something but for sure not through barrier

Delta is fast, Omega can be slow. They can share this glorious feature

Just give it an omega shield that you can activate. maybe if it had a massive shield it would actually land once in a while.

Also, yes it does need to do more damage.

Giving it a trigger is nice. But don’t bypass barrier.

Or a trigger to make it disintegrate into several smaller rockets for example

What if it could pass barrier for the first half hour? Can spike it into the ground but can’t effect a fight the sector over?

That sounds fun. Also agree it shouldn't go through barrier. We need barrier to work for SOMETHING.

Barrier is the most powerful Combat mod, every ship in WS carries it.

It needs something that counters it. Drones pass through it but none of them do anything but tank.

Decoy forces retarget, repair…repairs, blast drones blast. Tele and bond hard counter barrier. It’s honestly a shell if it’s former self for better or worse

Teleport isn’t a hard counter for Barrier at all. Bond is

The drones passing through barrier has been relevant in half the ws I have played since update. Same with delta rocket

In pitched WS battles, it comes down to one side shooting and the other side not shooting

And about one in ten pitched battles, there is actually an exchange in damage in both sides, where shield and hull values matter

I think the biggest exception to that would be Ally Shield

#

This is the WS build I use often, definitely responsible for killing many ships per WS

That’s basically my build as well but we do exchange blows on both sides generally. When the other team has range advantage we need to plow in and break that up. Repair drone helps there

Helps to have a bit of cavalry around, with Impulse Bond, and CRT to drop ahead before falling back. There’s an ebb and flow to it

We managed to avoid getting into chain ray battles completely

This is due to some strategies. But i can gladly say that chain ray outside of defense is no longer a dominant exchange

You can't just plow 5 ships into the opponent and expect it to work

Though many corps do this, and casuals get crushed

We made one CRT kill 5 BSs and a few miners in a recent WS

#

This was a mixed engagement over a contested p10, it started with us on defence, then pushed them onto defence. More or less an 8v8 battle that had two sort of stages to it before it turned into a complete rout.
