Dark Nebula
Game mode : Co-op PVE

Players must work together to complete Rounds of Waves, which feature new asteroids spawning, new enemies spawning, and each Round has an Objective.
Some objectives carry through multiple waves, which increase in difficulty.

There will be Fog of War. Only sectors adjacent to any player ships are revealed.

Types of Missions
Mining + Deposit
Players must search the Dark Nebula for sectors with hydro, and protect their miners while they Mine and Deposit on a Planet to create Relics.
Loading Defence
The Planet(s) sectors have all borders removed, increasing the aggro range of Cerberus which spawn in adjacent sectors and attempt to destroy the transports that are loading the Relics
Escort
There is a jump gate, opposite from the starting point, where the Relics must be taken. Cerberus will try to destroy the transports along the way.
Sectors are enlarged in this Round as well, to increase cerberus aggro ranges
Destroy All Cerberus
Destroy Cerberus Base
Boss Waves

Evolving Map
The standard WS map shape is used, although sometimes the entire map will shift. Where you were once in sectors E/F/G, those may come to be sectors A/B/C in the next wave. This stimulates an exploration and progression through a Dark Nebula, as your Fog of War limits the overall view. Nebula are much larger than solar systems, after all.
For example, you may Jump In in Sector A4, and the Escort Relics mission may take you to Sector G1. Then the map would change, and G1 would become the new A2 (as an example)
This may require a shifting border like BLS has, but moving rather than collapsing.

Number of participants is up for discussion, and also range of difficulty based on who scans. You keep going until you get overwhelmed and lose. Probably Corp scans, and Friends list invited enabled. Maybe people can jump in (and are on standby until the players reach a Jump Gate)

Players will have 1 Miner, 1 Transport, 2 Battleships
Any objective that features a Jump Gate allows you jump in ships that were lost in a previous wave. This costs Hydro (but the cost doesn’t increase each time you do it)

(Ship Replacements will be identical to your initial scan. No need to go to YS, but you also cannot change mods) (Maybe ships docked at Jump Gates can swap mods on the fly, but this would have to be done real-time during a Wave)

This is when players who have joined can jump in.

Rewards are based on Rounds Completed, and have a Daily Cap

The highest Round a player has Completed is saved, and determines that player’s Dark Nebula Scanner Level, and when they scan a new Dark Nebula, this is the highest level they can start at, or join at. Players can only Jump In to Dark Nebulae that are In Progress if they have previously cleared up to this current Round’s level. Similar to Red Stars

The rewards to be gained from Dark Nebulae runs are capped daily, but players can keep playing them to push for higher levels. There is a Hydro Scan Cost, and a Ship Jump Cost (determined by ship level). Higher levels offer higher rewards, so scanning at higher levels may reach the daily cap faster. Lower levels can be repeated, they may achieve your daily rewards slower.

The Hydro Cost of scanning and joining, and bringing in replacement ships in Dark Nebula should be similar to Battleship-only RS runs, so that they can be played without worry. The idea here is do give players something fun to do, but can’t be ground for rewards. People can help lower level players, but lower level players can always just scan lower, to spend a little more time reaching their daily cap. It allows everybody to have a PVE challenge that has no upper limit.

The Dark Nebula Scanner for each player will show what round they have completed, so that players who play together know what they can scan at, and also allows for bragging rights, which always keeps the whales happy.

Daily Rewards include
Credits, Hydro, Crystals
A small amount of Crystals, because there probably won’t be Leaderboards involved in this - although I’m open to suggestions

The rate of play in Dark Nebula is similar to that of Blue Stars, in terms of module cooldowns and game speed. Cerberus spawn every 2 minutes, and objectives must be completed within a Time Limit before the round is failed and the Dark Nebula is over.

wonder if this can be an addition to the existing drs? more varied mechanics and objectives as opposed to flat stat increases on the cerbs
