I can't play the game after recent big update. It loads any menus, but after loading to the track eather online or offline it crashes. I tried reinstalling and some other solutions from internet but still can't play. In the Crash message it says that I can send dmp crash file to KW Studios, but I couldn't find where to, so I write here. Any solutions?

Also I can't even run a game without proxy, it just doesn't log in.

Maybe these two issues are connected.

This is the right place.
What gpu are you using?
Does running in dxvk mode work for you?
post the log files also. There are always two files (MWTransport and Game) which are made when you open the game and their time is before the crash dump.
You can find the files in this address.
Log files: Documents\My Games\SimBin\RaceRoom Racing Experience\UserData\Log
Crash dumps: Documents\My Games\SimBin\Crash Dumps

check these ones and see if it improves your conditions or not.

  • verify the integrity of you files with steam.

  • make a backup of this folder and after that delete it. run the game again so the game makes a new one and jump to a race and see if it solve the issue or not.
    Documents\My Games\SimBin\RaceRoom Racing Experience

  • delete everything in your directX Shader Cache.
Press Win + R, type appdata, and hit Enter.
Navigate to Local > D3DSCache and delete everything inside it. they are pre-compiled shader

  1. I tried dxvk mode, but I only see RR logo on red rectangle, It basically can't run the game.
  2. I have Intel Irix XE (this is GPU) + Intel i7-1260P + Windows 11 x64 + 16 RAM. The game worked on 115-140 FPS before update.

CEF.log and General.txt are empty and 0 KB

#

verify the integrity of you files with steam - done once, reinstalled game and done once again.

#

deleting profile folder doesn't help, I even deleted the whole SimBin folder. The game runs differently (windowed, not Full Screen) but I can't race anyway.

#

deleting everything in my directX Shader Cache also doesn't help.

#

After this I chose different car and different track, the ones I never played on. - Doesn't work.

#

I tried to disable DLC in Steam - NO
I tried to run 32bit version - NO

#

All the recent attempts I just went to Single Mode - Practice, chose the car and track, pressed Race, then Loading screen and when message says "Press any key to continueu", a 2-3 seconds later it crashes, I don't even have to press any key. When I press the key - crash.

I also have the same 00000000005 error. My game works trough single player. But when I try to load timeatack trough leaderboard, game crashes.

I also tried running DXVK from folder x64dxvk. This time the game runs but error message still appears, when loading to room.

I found a solution. In the folder - D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\raceroom racing experience\Game\x64dxvk I renamed file dxgi.dll to dxgi.dllOOO (just didn't want to delete it) and finally I can run the game in DXVK mode. But the other problem showed up: I can not make it full screen and the game is small. My laptop is not as powerful to make the game in original laptop resolution which is 3200x2000.

I gave results from WInDbg (dmp file analisys) to DeepSeek and it says that the problem is not in system but in the game code itself.

#

PROCESS_NAME: RRRE64.exe - This is the main process of the RaceRoom game.

ERROR_CODE: 0xc0000005 - This is an access violation. The program attempted to access an invalid memory address.

MODULE_NAME: RRRE64 - The crash occurred within the module of the game's own executable file, and not in a third-party driver or system library.

FAILURE_BUCKET_ID: INVALID_POINTER_READ_c0000005_RRRE64.exe!Unknown - This confirms an attempt to read from an invalid pointer in the game's code.

Based on the analysis, the problem is most likely related to a bug in the game's code that manifested after the update.

I tried to disable DLC in Steam - NO
I don't think DLC have any meaning in raceroom. It was just an old way to add packs from steam which is no longer used by game.
I tried to run 32bit version - NO
32bit is broken at the moment and reported. it is unrelated to your problem.

editing dxgi.dll is good finding, maybe can help others who also have problem loading in dxvk.
About the resolution, does it set in full screen or windows borderless ?
Does your driver has something like upscaling in your setting for lower resolution?
what resolution are you aiming for?

I don't know if it is helpful or not. You can try the latest version of DXVK if you want. I think only changing the d3d9.dll file is enough for updating. The other dxgi may cause a crash for you again.
https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases
maybe it can help to solve the resolution.

The 00000000005 is very general error when am app crash in windows and doesn't give much information until more detail information extract from it. The log files are also important to check because it can gives at what step of game it stuck.
I don't know if it useful or not.

Yesterday I copied all the files from dxvk-2.7.1 to raceroom racing experience\Game\x64dxvk. It didn't help, so I restored original files. Now I have tried replacing d3d9.dll and renaming dxgi.dll to dxgi.dllOOO. Can't fix resolution anyway.

#

My original display resolution is 3200x2000 16:10 with 200% upscale. It works fine borderless or windowed but the image is small for eyes. I aim for 1920x1200 which worked best before update.

#

About the resolution, does it set in full screen or windows borderless? - It is set to Full Screen in menu, but runs borderless anyway.

#

Basically I can only see Fullscreen, when setting original display relolution, which is 3200x2000, but I have about 40 FPS with only 9 bots racing with me. 40 FPS feel not enough to race well.

Thanks to your screenshot about GPU scaling I went to Intel Graphics Software and started experimenting with GPU scaling. Not perfect solution but better. At least Full screen with 1920x1200 resolution. The only bad thing is the image in game and in windows is pixelized a bit. Also now I have about 80-90 FPS with 9 bots practice. I don't know if I have an FPS drop because of DXVK or because of RR update.

#

So this is the solution for now - replacing d3d9.dll (from latest dxvk-2.7.1) and renaming dxgi.dll to dxgi.dllOOO which basically makes this file unseen for the game. Then changing GPU Scaling Mod and Method in GPU Driver's Software.

#

Then I raced a bit in Practice and the game froze a couple of moments later. 😥

It freeses completely like this. Image froze, then awful sound for 1 sec, then I can hear all the sounds from game. For example I can break, accelerate, I can hear it, but the image is frozen. No crash messages, just my laptop starts heating up and it's coolers accelerate. I have to close game forcefully, for example by using Task Manager. It did not generate dump.

I found this.

#

Turned on VSync.

#

Some info

#

After turning VSync image got smooth, not pixelized.

I also tried recording the moment it freezes, but in the video it looks different.
