You have 61 incident points…

#

Also 12th out of 14 isn’t helping

Rating is not about gaining positions.
The rating is an elo-system, like you see in chess.
So after the race you are compared to every other driver and their ratings and then you are ranked.
So if you have small rating and a driver behind you has high rating you will gain rating.
If you have high rating but you lost to a guy with small rating you will loose some.

And incident points only affect reputation

Starting position doesn't matter either, regarding your rating, only your finishing position in comparison to other drivers rating are taken into account

As Shorty said

@crystal junco how many ranked races have you done? Are you still within your first 20 races? If yes, the rating and reputation gains and losses are doubled

You can gain rating even if you race with only 1 opponent. The key is, finish ahead of him/her. And you can gain rating if you race against many people who have lower ratings. The key is to beat them. Otherwise you will lose rating. But for example I had a race where we were only 2 of us in the grid, and the other had more ratings than me. And we finished as “expected”. So I finished 2nd and I still lost ratings. I don’t know the exact calculation, but I think the average ratings of the whole grid and the finishing position is also important, I mean if many lower rating people finish ahead of you, you most probably will lose points. But if you beat higher rating guys, the ratings will increase.

problem is that you focus too much on the number, its supposed to be accurate, not as high as possible

#

if you are slow, its gonna be low and its fine

@crystal junco Another thing to add, is that rating is not something that's supposed to increase, like an XP bar in RPGs. Instead, it's an indicator of your speed. I see your rating fluctuates around 1570, maybe that's your speed? If you want to have higher rating, you should focus on being faster, more consistent, all that stuff. Then you will naturally have better results and your rating will reflect that and increase.
