In 2021 I competed in 4 time competitions. 3 free to play and 1 premium.
How come I didn't get a D? I am still unranked.
Or is there more to getting a letter than doing competitions?

The Rank gets almost never updated. Wait for half a year, maybe then there will be an update.

The leaderboard competition ranks aren't updated anymore. they were never good for anything in the first place.
You got the letters A-D in regard for your positions in the leaderboard challenges. No letter means you didn't participate in the challenges during the period of time when it was updated. So yopu maybe, depending on your positions, could have instantly ranked into B for example. It is not like a ladder which you climb the more you do leaderboard challenges. But as i said by now it is not updated anymore as it also isn'T used for anything.

Leaderboard competition ranks are definitely still in use. Each tier (A, B, C, D, and unranked) gets its 500 vRP reward. If Raceroom staff stopped updating these tiers at least sometimes (but did they?), it can create unfair situations when fast people get stuck in C or D tier and can always be around the top spots in their tier, which increases their chance of getting a reward
