we don't use the native Discord feature for banning, so if that's what you mean we wouldn't know

with Hepboat we use ,cleanban to ban+purge all messages from a user who hasn't left, and if they did we use ,ban then .pu (Nostra feature that devs made to purge messages from users who already left)

i haven't tested it much, but just experienced this issue. banning a user that left didn't get rid of their previous messages, which used to work before

Lily and I use native bans on other servers at times, and yeah if they've already left it can get buggy with deleting the messages

There are some bots that can clear messages even after leaving/banning so long as you have the ID, so we generally do that if it doesn't work
