Hi,
pronunciation is an entire topic, and you can't really apply the logic of another language to it
although not always the case, for the most part French pronunciation is pretty consistent once you understand the patterns. It's just that you may be going into it with no knowledge of such patterns, applying what you think it may sound like using other languages as a basis

there are digraphs and trigraphs (combination of letters acting as one sound), silent letters, as well as sounds that don't have any equivalent in languages like English or Spanish
