Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Bonjour → neutral, appropriate in basically all situations formal or informal
Salut → friendly, informal. Only used with people you'd generally use the pronoun "tu" with.
Coucou → friendly, more intimate than salut.
bonjour isn't exactly okay in an informal context
i'd be weirded out if my friends greeted me with bonjour
it creates distance
hmmm yes
I wouldn't say it to friends, I guess
unless they're in a group I don't know everyone in'
We regularly use it at work/with friends, odd
We're heavy on the tutoiement but I'd say bonjour is prooobably most common out of bonjour/allô/salut? Though all are common
I'm not sure if I've heard coucou here yet
We = quebec, namely montreal at least
I understand. Merci everyone.
well its very different in quebec then
