Hi Bill! I'm not an expert, just a native. To my delicate ears, items 2-3-4 are correct ☑️ maybe just a slight typo in 4 : donc j'étais en retard au travail
Number 1 doesn't sound right though :
For me it's
Puis je suis allé au travail
Remember :

J'allais= I was going
