I think the only difference is that in informal contexts you're more likely to only hear rajouter and never ajouter

But to say "to add again" you can always use rajouter

Also "en rajouter" can be translated as "to insist"

"Le professeur l'avait déjà grondé à cause de son retard, et maintenant ses parents en rajoutent" i.e. they're scolding him too
