"en or" means it's made out of gold.
"d'or" is used in poetic or figurative contexts.
there is also "doré" which means gold-coloured.

"en or" makes me think "a chain made of gold" while "d'or" makes me think "gold in the shape of a chain" more or less, if that helps give the vibes
