Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

Hey @distant fossil , à la rigueur is used when you have to solve something and you can't apply the best solution, so because it's not possible to do [this], à la rigueur we can at least do [this].
Hum, we don't have screws to fix this... but à la rigueur, we can try to fix it with rubber tape for today
