En français québécois, la particule -tu indique soit une question fermée, à laquelle on répond oui ou non, soit une exclamation. Cette particule n'a en fait rien à voir avec le pronom tu, mais trouve plutôt ses origines dans l'inversion : -t-il s'est transformé en -ti et ensuite en -tu. Remarquez que l'usage de cette particule appartient au registre familier.

In Quebec French, the particle -tu indicates either a closed question, one that we respond to with yes or no, or an exclamation. This particle has nothing to do with the pronoun tu, but actually has its origins in inversion: -t-il became -ti which then became -tu. It should be noted that the usage of this particle is decidedly casual.
