Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

"Je vous en prie" may be used as "you're welcome" but not "je vous en supplie". Both can be used to mean "I beg you", I think "je vous en supplie" may be closer because "supplier" is "to beg", but you may also see "je vous en prie" being used if someone is begging.

#

prier means "to pray", so if someone is saying "je vous en prie" while asking for something, they're literally putting you in the position where you're the one deciding if you're gonna grant their prayer request or not.

#

For instance, "Je vous en prie, ne lui faites pas de mal" can mean "I beg/implore you, don't hurt him/her"

#

"je vous en prie" can range between a very formal way of saying "please" to begging on your knees with joined hands. blob_gentilhomme

Quickly :

"Je vous en prie" : you're welcome
"Je vous en supplie" : please ++ (with the biggest intensity)

Evidently it's a fast explain but for a level A1 to B1-B2 I think it's sufficiency

If you have another question DM me or @kindred flame here 😁
