Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

« S’intéresser » is in the active voice so suggests more of an involvement with the thing you’re interested in whereas « être intéressé par » is in the passive voice and doesn’t really imply a direct action associated with the interest in a way that « s’intéresser à » does

So « je m’intéresse à la biologie » suggests I actively involve myself with the subject, but « je suis intéressé par la biologie » suggests more of a ‘yeah it sounds cool’ kinda thing
