1. You could say "passer en mode fenêtré". I was thinking maybe réduire (la fenêtre) would work as well but this also corresponds to removing the window from the screen without closing it (keeping it in the task bar).

2. Idk if there's really a word, you could just say "(afficher les fenêtres) côte à côte"

3. "la fenêtre" (feminine), "qui permet à deux applications", "une autre appli"
