Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

hi, good start
anki is a good way to start building some vocabulary
plus being a daily exercise, it helps with consistency. Learning at regular intervals is very important to carving things into your long term memory, which is necessary for language learning

#

that said, vocabulary alone can only get you so far
something very important to learn is grammar: basically how to make a sentence, how do you syntax words.
There are good guides you can find for free online, I recommend following this collection of articles: https://www.lawlessfrench.com/learn-french/french-for-beginners/

lkl

A self-study French course divided into loosely themed units with grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation lessons; cultural tips; and assorted quizzes.

once you'll have learned basic grammar and vocabulary, you'll want to actually do some listening and reading.
There are many ways to do so. The important points are that you need to understand something, are challenged, and that you're motivated by what you're reading/listening
it can be short stories, youtube videos, talking through social media, etc
