bonjour! it is very coherent and the use of imparfait / passé composé seems correct to me, i wouldn't change your sentences. the only two improvements i could recommend are : la nouvelle année (the plural seems odd here, if you're talking of the new year) ; and "Nous y sommes allées en avion" (the verb "aller" requires a complement which indicates a location). hope this helps!
