Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

For « devoir », it’s other meaning is ‘to owe’ like « Je te dois de l’argent (I owe you some money) », so that’s something to keep in mind

"il se peut que" is also possible

#

"je veux que" too

This is what transitive vs intrasitive verbs are. Transitive verbs require an object to make sense, while intransative verbs don't.

#

the 3 verbs you said are all transitive

Right, and infinitives – the base form of verbs that come after conjugated ones – are essentially objects

you might hear some intransitives verbs be used in a seemingly grammatically incorrect way in an informal context like in your example you can respond to an offer with "je veux bien", but since vouloir is a transitive verb, it normally needs an object (bien isn't one), however this is an exception because it is an idiomatic phrase

Right even though French tends to not like that

#

For example:
« Elle est fâchée et je le suis aussi »

#

« Tu veux des pommes ? Oui, j’en veux. »
