Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Because that happens to be the way French grammar works when the auxiliary verb is "avoir"

the past participle is essentially an adjectival form of a verb
since it functions like an adjective, and adjective agree with the nouns they modify in French, there is agreement
the rules are a bit more complicated than that for a variety of historical reasons, but that's the logic
(not that you should ever bother yourself looking for logic in human languages, unless your a glutton for frustration)
