Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
j'ai des pommes → I have apples
j'en ai → I have some of them
j'ai trois pommes → I have three apples
j'en ai trois → I have three of them
Oh ok
And it doesn’t change with number and gender?
Like if it’s multiple feminine items?
the pronoun "en", no it's always just "en"
Or women?
Ok
That makes sense. Thank you for your help. I feel like I get it now
It's worth noting it's not always "of", it's anything where "de" is used or implied
Can be "from it/them", "about it/them" etc., so long as it's introduced by "de"
It means “the”
"en"? no "en" does not mean "the"
