Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

I heard that 'atterrir" wasnt the right word

#

But tomber doesn't sound right either,

In French, for falling off a bike and crashing onto your arm, atterrir (to land) feels off since it’s more for controlled landings, and tomber (to fall) is too vague. Better options are s’écraser (to crash) or retomber (to land heavily).
A natural way to say it is: Je suis tombé de mon vélo et je me suis écrasé sur mon bras, et je l’ai cassé (“I fell off my bike, crashed onto my arm, and broke it”), or for a softer tone, Je suis retombé sur mon bras (“I landed on my arm”).
