Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Read, watch native content, and any show you don't watch in french use french subtitles
Also if you use reddit follow french reddits (quebec, france, rance (be wary of this one, has some joke translations), dinosaure)
At lower levels, consistency is key
At higher levels, variety is key
Both are important regardless though
Also, just.. talk. You'll bump into lots of missing vocab. Use wordreference, don't be afraid to look things up
Really engage with interesting material of all sorts (keep notes as you go) and then use opportunities to produce language yourself and notice when you use a new word from your vocabulary. It's good to celebrate progress. Just make it a fun process. That's my belief.
Can even go extra nerdy and journal about your progress. "Used two new words today! Just popped out of my head."
