Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Tutoyer is using "tu" to address someone and vouvoyer is using "vous" to address someone.
I don't know if you learned this but vous is more respectful than tu when talking to one person.
so how in the sentence it can be used?
could you please bring an example?
For example when you’re talking to an elder and you wanna ask for their name for you will say : comment VOUS appelez vous??
And when it’s for someone younger you will say : comment t’appelles-tu ??
yes I know that but vouvoyer is just a verb or abbreviation?
Yeah it’s just a transitive verb
Same with tutoyer.
