Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
The good news is there's only two options, à and â. French doesn't use á.
Also à is only used for the preposition, so that's nice and simple. So you really just have to remember which words use â!

Conjugaison: le passé simple utilise le â pour la première et deuxième personne du pluriel(EX: nous aimâmes, vous aimâtes) tho it’s not generally used. (Équivalant to simple past)
À(itself) is the preposition
But in short, there aren’t really any rules for à or â unlike other languages in French, am guessing it changes a bit of prononciation.
