Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
*apprendre français
Anyone got any tips? I bought a Netflix subscription to watch films and shows in French and English sub so I can understand French.
Although that could be help, is there any apps to help learn French vocabulary and verbs and also to speak and understand in French over time?
Apps will always be incredibly limited in their usefulness
In general, we recommend LawlessFrench and Wordreference mainly, as well as Kwiziq
One of the bigger things is just trying to get in as much exposure to the language as possible without it feeling like a chore. Finding media you enjoy (music, games, podcasts, videos, movies, streams, anything) in as much variety as you can and if you can, try chatting in the voice chats here or at least sitting in sometime when people are speaking french
Slowly you'll develop the ear for it
Don't be afraid of just putting something on in the background and not paying too much attention to it. It won't magically make you understand the grammar or vocab, but it'll train your ear to pick up and process the sounds much easier
