Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
The task is to write a reproach, a criticism, whereas tu devrais introduces an advice.
Otherwise, the sentence is absolutely correct.
It just doesn't match with the word used at the left.
You've mixed them up, it's like saying You must stay in bed and drink lots of water, instead of You should stay in bed.
Thanks
Though to me both work, depending on the tone used 😠idk
Like, "omg you have to pay attention to what you're doing, you (....)"
And both "you must" and "you should" stay in bed carry essentially the same meaning in that context
Yes, technically, I would agree with you on that.
But would you label it as an advice, like would you say I think you must stay in bed ?
It sounds a little off to me that way. It's like thinking (hypothetically) that somethings needs to be done, instead of giving a piece of advice.
There it would rather be "Since you're sick, I think you should stay in bed and drink a lot of water [because I believe that's how you'll get better]"
But it would be fine to say You must stay in bed to get better as well, the meaning is objectively the same, but the intention is not.
