Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
In French there are many negative structures that consist of the word "ne" and an accompanying word like "pas", "plus", "personne", "rien", etc.
-
ne...pas ==> "not"
Je ne mange pas = I do not eat -
ne...rien ==> "nothing"
Je ne mange rien = I eat nothing -
ne...plus ==> "not anymore"
Je ne mange plus = I don't eat anymore / I no longer eat -
ne...personne ==> "no one"/"not anyone"
Je ne vois personne = I don't see anyone / I see no one -
ne...jamais ==> "never"
Je ne mange jamais = I never eat
etc.
Is there anything specific that you find confusing about this?
Yeah how do u insert "ne pas" in a Sentence thats writen in Passe Compose?
"ne pas" goes around the conjugated verb. So in a sentence in the passé composé, it goes around the auxiliary, because that's the conjugated part of the verb.
- Je ne mange pas = I do not eat
- Je n'ai pas mangé = I did not eat / I have not eaten
