without more context, I would understand "je ne le supporte pas" as "I can't stand him", and "je ne le tiens pas" as "I'm not holding it"

"supporter" when talking about an object can mean to support, to hold up. But it can also mean to be able to stand/bear with someone or something (could be a person, or something else like a noise, or to accept a fact)

Thanks for the response! I guess I should have added what I wanted to convey in English, that’s my bad. I want to say “I can’t stand [something]” as in like “I can’t stand lines” “I can’t stand pain”

Je tiens pas la douleur -> this one I’m a little iffy about? I feel like it’s somewhat similar to “je tiens pas le coup” which does exist to my knowledge.

so "tenir" in that sense is way more specific.
usually used with specific constructions like "tenir le coup" or "tenir le choc", it indicates a physical threshold where your body can't keep going, usually for a small but hard amount of time
