Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
ce, cet, and cette are used to mean this/that (ce/cet are used with masculine nouns, cette is used with feminine nouns)
ces is used to mean these/those.
ce chat est mignon = this/that cat is cute
ces chiens sont drôles = these/those dogs are funny
they are used in place of an article, e.g, le, la, l'
and then ça means it/this/that (ce also means it/this/that when it is used as a pronoun, and most commonly in c'est)
"ce" as a pronoun comes before "être" just in general
ce serait, ce sera, ce fut, etc
Ce - masculin (eg: Ce garcon)
Cet - Vowel (eg: cet appartement)
Cette - feminin (eg: cette voiture)
Ces - plural (eg: Ces fleurs)
