« quelque » is an adjective which means 'some/any' like « On a quelques difficultés à trouver le chemin (We've had some difficulties in finding the road) ». It can be singular or plural, agreeing with the noun it modifies.
« quelques-un.e.s » is a pronoun and usually refers to something that has already mentioned; this can be used like « certain.e.s ».
« Ces fleurs que tu as achetées, quelques-unes sont jaunes. »
