this is more obvious with the gendered pronouns il(s)/elle(s), but if the subject is je, nous, tu, vous, the gender agreement is just whoever is referenced
“vous êtes belles” if you’re talking to a group of girls. “je suis content” if the speaker is male, etc.
“je suis allé(e)” is just another example of gender concordance with the subject
