Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
like sort of to call upon the bright side
confused, you read/heard "on appelle la vie du bon côté" somewhere?
it doesn't really mean anything to me
yeah in the textbook we had to like choose which phrase would fit best
and appelle was the only one left
for that one
so maybe we call it life on the bright side?
something like that
cause there was no voir in the verbs to choose from
and no other verb would make sense
The more likely explanation is that you matched another phrase with the wrong verb
Normally the expression is "on prend la vie du bon côté"
Which phrase did you match with the verb "prendre" ?
it was je prends une semaine sur deux avec chaque parent
maybe i call every other week
That would be "passer", I think.
The mystery thickens - which phrase did you match with "passer"?
Here's where I would use the infinitives:
- appeler - avoir
- vivre - marcher
- vivre - croire
- être - prendre
though you could switch "être" with "vivre"
but appeler unambiguously goes into the 1st slot and prendre unambiguously goes into the last one
oh yeah now i see it
