Yep, apprendre can also be teach. The difference is, enseigner is rather used for teachers while apprendre can be used of everbody with any capacity.

Also, if you just say "j'apprends le français", you're saying you learn the language. But if you say "j'apprends le français à mon ami", you mean teaching French to your friend.

Careful with the structure.
