Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

I can't think of an example where one would work and not the other.
But I'd say it's more likely to use être pris when planning something.
"Lundi je suis déjà pris." "Mon lundi est déjà pris."

There's also a nuance, être pris is passive. It's out of your control, you're litteraly being taken.

You say "Je suis occupé" when you're busy in general, with work or tasks. "Je suis occupée, je peux pas te parler maintenant"
"Je suis pris" is more informal and often used when you have a prior commitment or are unavailable for something specific. "Je suis pris ce soir, je ne peux pas venir"
