Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

When first starting out, set phrases are significantly more valuable and will allow you to get a feel for the grammar structure. If you simply try slapping french vocab onto english sentence structure you will typically not be understood
If you're just looking for vocab though, you just need this ^ and wordreference. A tutor is unlikely to be helpful if you're only doing vocab.
