Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

With "s'il vous plaît", one can usually imagine refusing the request
With "veuillez", you generally don't have another "accepted" option

Like "Please keep your arms inside the vehicle" is a polite way of saying "Keep your arms inside the vehicle"
