Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
"Je n'y suis resté que pour la nourriture"
Or "Je n'y restais que pour la nourriture" but this one is more like "I was staying there just for the food" (with the idea of duration)
