Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Some verbs take a direct object.
- Example, the verb "détester": "Je déteste ma mère".
The object "ma mère" comes directly after the verb, it's not introduced by a preposition.
So if you wanted to replace "ma mère" by a pronoun, you'd have to use a direct object pronoun. - Example: "Ma mère est vraiment insupportable, je la déteste".
Some verbs take an indirect object.
- Example, the verb "parler": "Je parle à ma mère".
The object "ma mère" is introduced by the preposition "à", which makes it an indirect object.
So if you wanted to replace "ma mère" by a pronoun, you'd have to use an indirect object pronoun. - Example: "Ma mère est insupportable, je ne lui parle jamais".
