Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
« C'est ta meilleure amie. »
The possessive agrees with the gender of the noun but for « amie » and feminine words that starts with a vowel (amie, école, université, etc), the possessive turns to the masculine so that there won't be a stop between the two vowels. Compare:
« Elle est ton amie. »
« Elle est ta meilleure amie. »
The presence of « meilleure » prevents « ta » and « amie » from coming into contact so the possessive can remain as a feminine.
The choice between « elle » and « ce » depends on what comes next: in general, if what follows « être » is a noun, we'll use « ce » but if what follows is an adjective – professions are included here – « il/elle » is preferred. Compare:
« C'est une boulangère. »
« Elle est boulangère. »
