Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
They both mean "to finish" but "finir" is more general and commonly used, while "terminer" often implies completing something more formal or structured. "Terminer" can also suggest bringing something to a definite conclusion
"J'ai fini mes devoirs"
"Le film finit à 20h"
"Il a terminé son projet hier"
"Nous devons terminer la réunion à 18h"
In these examples "finir" is used for more general contexts while "terminer" is used in situations that emphasize completion or finality
